Job Description

This position is onsite M-Th with remote flexibilty for Fri with a salary ranging from $95k-$110k plus bonus!

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the firm's day-to-day accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, trust and settlement accounting, expense and vendor management, financial reconciliations, and compliance reporting. This role partners closely with attorneys, legal administrative staff, and firm leadership to ensure accurate financial records, timely billing and collections, and smooth operational support across accounting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly billing cycle, including prebills, attorney review, adjustments, final invoice processing, and client portal submissions (including LEDES formatting)
  • Coordinate with legal administrative assistants and attorneys to ensure accurate and complete time entry
  • Maintain billing for pro bono and non-billable matters and track per diem billing
  • Post and apply payments, monitor accounts receivable, run AR reports, and collaborate with attorneys on collections
  • Receive and record settlement payments, manage trust account activity, and prepare expense reimbursement invoices
  • Maintain file closing documentation and prepare quarterly write-offs and related journal entries
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and expense activity between QuickBooks and Clio
  • Serve as backup for accounts payable, expense processing, vendor setup, W-9 maintenance, and 1099 tracking
  • Assist with corporate credit card, FedEx invoice processing, and specialty checkbook management
  • Prepare annual 1099 reporting, including reconciliation of payments and reimbursements
  • Monitor undeposited checks and support monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations as needed
